Bethlehem Transporation

The BASD Transportation Department transports over 10,000 students to and from school every school day using more than 100 buses that travel over 6,400 miles daily.  We deliver these students to not only the 22 schools in the Bethlehem Area School District, but also to over 50 additional private and charter schools located within 10 miles of our own district boundaries.

Kindergarten and first grade students must be met at the bus stop by a parent/guardian/ responsible adult or responsible older sibling. If no parent is available after a series of attempts to drop off, the driver will contact the school and transportation office and the child will be returned to school per school board policy 810.  All special needs students are to be met by a parent/guardian/responsible adult or responsible sibling unless prior arrangements have been documented.

We ask that you talk with your children about the importance of staying seated while the bus is moving and listening to the Driver. If your child has a problem with another student, we ask that he/she inform the Driver when he/she is exiting the bus. The Driver will handle the problem by speaking with the other student or completing a bus conduct referral.
